Pousada Convento de Beja

The place was beautiful and easy to find, and the location in the small city was nice, close to restaurants. Even if a bit outdated, the room was cute and comfortable. When asking for suggestions at the reception, the staff was friendly and happy to help. Overall good value for money.

The staff are courteous and helpful beyond expectation. They gave us a tour of the building, which is more expansive than you might think – I recommend checking it out. Some of the rooms and open spaces are impressive, and the tranquil ambiance is very relaxing. Breakfast was relaxed and calm, with a decent selection of cold items, but rather limited heated selection. Spacious room and large, comfortable bed.

The hotel is very well located in the center of Beja. It is a refurbished old monastery, very nice building. The rooms are huge and the breakfast is good. The reception people are very friendly. They have a very nice swimming pool, which we did not use. The bathroom is quite good.

Love how peaceful this place is. The history fills every hallway. Walking distance to delicious restaurants and coffee shops! We really enjoyed visiting the castle and cathedral a short walk away.

The Posada is in a lovely building which was originally a 16th century convent. The cool cloisters are still there and a small chapel as are the high ceilinged rooms. Some of these rooms have been deliberately left only partly furnished, recalling their previous use and providing a welcoming cool areas in contrast to the summer heat outside! There are extensive gardens and huge ivy covered trellises, particularly around the pool area, again providing a retreat from the sun! The room was pleasant and the marbled bathroom large. We had dinner on the terrace each evening, with subtle lighting contributing to the romantic atmosphere. The buffet breakfast is excellent.
